responsibilities.

  1. Current

    Special Adviser on Education

    Office of the Governor of Abia State

    In this role he has represented Governor Alex Otti at national events, including the Maiden TETFund National Research Fair in Abuja, where he delivered the Governor's goodwill message on research, innovation and development.

  2. 2016 – 2019

    Executive Chairman

    Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB)

    As Executive Chairman of the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board, he was the overall head of the establishment. He provided leadership to Board members, directors and departmental heads, and oversaw the programmes and policies aimed at improving basic education in the state. His responsibilities included leading a 13-member Board, coordinating the recruitment and management of over 15,000 teachers, building partnerships with donor agencies, and promoting community engagement.

    During his tenure the Board attracted intervention counterpart funding for the construction, renovation and equipping of schools, which funded infrastructure projects in schools across the state. Enrolment increased through measures designed to bring out-of-school children back into the education system. He led advocacy programmes for girl child education, and the Board built the first ultra-modern Universal Basic Education Model Schools in Nigeria, four in number.

  3. 2014 – 2016

    Board Secretary and Head of Administration

    Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB)

    Before becoming Executive Chairman, he served as the Board's Secretary. His responsibilities included recording the proceedings of Board meetings, monitoring staff activities, coordinating staff training and development, and managing personnel information systems, keeping the Board running smoothly and its staff well managed.
